Well it has been a while. December was pretty good, Christmas was great fun, Michigan lost as usual, job prospects were looking up, running was going ok. January so far has been a bust. The good things: Family is wonderful thing to have, my best friend and life partner Violet has been solid support through the ups and downs of trying to sort out my life which is an interesting thing to do in your 50s. The kids are finding there way which makes me happy becuase they are moving on as they should and makes me sad because they are moving on as they should. Then there is Dexter the wonder mutt who just plain makes me happy.

The not so good things: I am barely running at all. The job prospects suck right now, my job here at the university is coming to and end. It is hard to explain how difficult I have found it to be in this department trying to pick up and run a project that is 2 years old and is one of the most disorganized things I have ever come across. My days have turnied into coming in here, looking at job postings, applying for jobs and trying to get some work done. So they will continue on with someone else, I wish them luck. So as I refocus the job search I see the possibilities of a drastic career change looming. Should be interesting.

Violet, feel free to send him our way. We've got lots of rennovation projects we can put him to work on. We can't afford to pay much, if anything, but we can guarantee good food, great music, and all the diapers he never wanted to change.

Not with our neighbors. :-) I don't think I've bought a beer since I moved here. I just wander from porch to porch in the evenings. They get me tipsy and then take advantage of me (I end up fixing their computers).
